Railway Gala Weekend - 23/24 July We have changed the weekend of our Gala Weekend from the second weekend in July to avoid a clash with another large steam event in our area. Our new dates are as above and if this trial works out, we plan to make this our regular weekend. Use this link to book your tickets. |

Rail Gala Weekend - Saturday & Sunday 23 & 24 July 2022
2022 Steam Trains
Our planned steam dates have now been decided. This year, following successful and reliable operation during our 2021 Christmas days, we have scheduled operation of our large Fowler Resilient diesel loco, "Peldon" (JF21295) into the mix and these dates are included.
Use this link for a downloadable PDF of the proposed dates.
Our Bagnall saddle tank loco, "Peter" will be back in use during 2022 with an official launch on the Saturday of Railway Gala Weekend on 23 July. However, before that, once it has been passed fit for service it will be used and so some of the details in the schedule could change when it becomes available for service. Any revisions will be published in advance if possible. We look forward to seeing you at Amberley this year. |
Peter Restoration Update Courtesy of Robbie Wilson Ltd, and driver Mike Jeffs, the boiler was reunited with the frames during our Industrial Trains event on Sunday 17 October. The photos are here. See below for a link to the video of the occasion.
The boiler was returned to the Museum on 17 September last year.
It was lifted onto the frames during our Industrial Trains event in October.
Work is now progressing, Covid restrictions permitting, but we still have to pay for some work completed by outside contractors. Donations to the Peter Fund are still being accepted. Please use this link to help us. For the rest of the story so far click the News tab at the top of this page. |
